Brendan Couglin:

We’re honored to host Brendan Coughlin, President of Citizens Financial Group, for an insightful career panel. Coughlin oversees Consumer Banking, Private Banking and Wealth Management, as well as key enterprise functions including Data & Analytics and Marketing.

Over his 20 years at Citizens, Coughlin has developed and launched several of the bank’s most innovative growth initiatives, including merchant point-of-sale financing partnerships with Apple and Microsoft and expansion of the Consumer franchise into new markets. He was instrumental in the 2023 national launch of Citizens Private Bank and scaling the bank’s Wealth Management capabilities.

Miles Deamer: 

Miles is a VP at Crossover VC, where he allocates capital to both early-stage emerging managers as well as select direct investment opportunities. Miles has spent more than a decade in Silicon Valley designing and implementing business strategies in the fintech and proptech verticals. Prior to joining Crossover, Miles spent seven years as an early employee of multiple venture-backed startups including Kiavi, Sundae, and AlphaFlow, where he led teams in capital markets, operations, and business development. Miles began his career in Credit at First Republic Bank where he conducted quantitative and qualitative due diligence on private credit direct loan opportunities.

Miles received a BS from USC, where he was also a member of the National Champion water polo team. Outside of work, you can find Miles early on Sunday mornings cheering on his hometown soccer team Fulham at a local San Francisco pub. Miles is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys fly fishing and trail running.

Dr. Rina Marfatia:

Dr. Marfatia is dual board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.   She received her medical degree from P.S. Medical College in Gujarat, India. Upon completion of her residency and Infectious Disease fellowship at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Marfatia relocated to Houston where she served as assistant professor in Infectious Diseases at the MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Marfatia moved to San Francisco in 2014 and continued to work in infectious diseases as a consultant at Marin General. In addition, she further established herself in primary care as well as corporate wellness, practicing in Marin, Menlo Park and San Francisco.

Based on her experience and observations in corporate wellness, she started designing wellness plans for corporations. She educates teams to empower them and increase compliance with current recommendations. She offers mental and physical health directed programs to ensure ongoing team well being.

Her training for infectious diseases and her experience and observations in corporate wellness puts her in a unique position to use her knowledge and passion for the benefit of organizations.

In her free time, Dr. Marfatia loves hanging out with family and friends, traveling and making art.
