Program Services Intern

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Position Duration: October 6, 2025 – April 25, 2026

Hourly Rate: $25.00/hours

Schedule: M-Th, 20 hours per week

The Small Business Inclusion and Workforce Development Manager manage the Port’s Rising T.I.D.E.S. Mentor and Internship Program.  This umbrella program houses the Port’s three internship programs, Summer College, Summer Maritime Intensive, and Year-long Laborer/Gardener Job Readiness.  As well as managing the internship program, the Small Business Inclusion and Workforce Development Manager also oversee the outreach and engagement to small businesses interested in working with the Port, including the Port’s largest outreach event which takes place annually in March.

The Program Services intern will support the workplan of the Small Business and Inclusion and Workforce Development Manager including, executing the Port’s 9th Annual Contract Open House and launching the 2026 Summer Internship.

DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

Summer Internship

  • Review summer intern applications

  • Participate in intern selection process

  • Communicate with prospective interns via email or text

  • Create Social Media Content

  • Develop Summer Info packets

Contract Open House

  • Create Social Media Content

  • Track event registration

  • Create participant name badges

  • Something else

  • Develop event day signage

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be a San Francisco resident

  • Be enrolled in a community college or 4-year university

  • Able to work in person 20 hours per week
