Before joining Enterprise for Youth, Lisa was the Managing Director of the Data For Good Fund at UpMetrics, a company empowering the social sector with impact measurement and management.

I am thrilled to share with you the exciting news that on January 1st, 2024 I became the CEO at Enterprise for Youth. As a San Francisco native, it is both an honor and a privilege to lead an organization that has been a beacon of opportunity and support for countless young individuals in our city for over five decades.

Congratulations to the new leaders of our Board! We’re honored and grateful to have four Board members be elected to the Board’s Executive Committee.

A note from Nínive to celebrate Carlo Solis & 55 years of Enterprise impact

During the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) held in San Francisco this fall, Dominick, an Enterprise for Youth participant with a passion for environmental justice, found himself sharing breakfast with world leaders. 

Choosing what to focus on in college is no small feat. Enterprise for Youth helped Carmen Ng explore her options, find her focus, and pursue her passions. Having access to unique opportunities like our Job Readiness Training, Career Exploration Program, and our many paid internships sets our young people up for success and helps them carve out their career paths.

Youth like Kristel succeed because Enterprise for Youth shows them they can. Individualized support is a key ingredient in our job readiness and internship programming, allowing young people the opportunity and confidence to discover their skills and passions.

I am honored to be the President of the Board of Directors for Enterprise for Youth. Our mission is to place young people in life-changing immersive work experiences. And, we are deeply proud to pay them as they learn about themselves and the world of work. 

Enterprise for Youth is a central employment resource, where youth learn job-readiness skills and soft skills — and practice those skills in supportive, paid internships. If you are joining or thinking about joining an Enterprise program this year, here is some advice to keep in mind! 

Youth Council is a year-long leadership development internship. Youth Councilors hone personal and professional skills through attending workshops, planning events, representing Enterprise at events, and serving as a youth voice to the staff and board of Enterprise. 

Enterprise is creating a future workforce capable of accelerating solutions to climate change. Our vision is to have Enterprise youth enter their professions with the skills and climate-minded framework needed to meet the growing demand of the workforce and the planet.

On July 12, over 300 Enterprise community members attended our second annual Climate Career Summit for the chance for youth to explore the world of climate careers.

Choosing a career path can be as intimidating as it is exciting, and for most youth, understanding the full breadth of the careers they can pursue is near impossible.

“What is working for Enterprise like?” From October to May, we had seven exceptional Enterprise youth interning for us. We asked each of them this question. Keep reading to see what they said!

High school senior Michael Buck gained a new perspective on the power of opportunity by training Enterprise intern Zachary Thornton while working at Starbucks. Michael and Zachary began working at Starbucks as part of Enterprise for Youth’s Direct-to-Hire program.

Hello everyone, I wanted to let you know how grateful I am to be here tonight to share my story. My name is Andrea Lopez. I was born in Los Angeles but grew up in El Salvador with my mother, father, and older sister. We didn’t have very much but we had each other.
