Development Associate

Enterprise for Youth is a San Francisco-based nonprofit that empowers under-resourced youth to reach their full potential through job readiness training, paid internships, career exploration, and personal mentorship. Our programs provide deep, hands-on engagement with youth from low-income and underrepresented communities, helping them overcome institutional barriers and access meaningful career opportunities. About the Role
The Development Associate supports the fundraising and communications efforts of Enterprise for Youth. This full-time position is ideal for someone detail-oriented, proactive, and excited to learn about nonprofit development. The role combines grant support, donor stewardship, and communications tasks to ensure smooth operations across the Development team.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Management Support

  • Review and track grant guidelines and deadlines
    Ensure signed grant agreements are uploaded and organized Salesforce

  • Create and maintain project plans for funded programs
    Monitor deliverables and reporting deadlines, providing reminders as needed

  • Write and prepare grant reports 

  • Occasionally support with authoring LOIs or Corporate Support Applications

Donor & Fundraising Support

  • Enter and update donor information in the database (Salesforce/CRM)

  • Draft donor thank-you letters and acknowledgments

  • Support donor communications, including mailings, newsletters, and campaign appeals

  • Assist with special events: preparation, logistics, and follow-up

  • Pull donor lists and reports for mail merges, campaigns, and events

Communications & Outreach

  • Draft and schedule social media posts (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook)

  • Interview youth interns and draft blog posts or highlights for the website

  • Assist with email campaigns and basic design projects (using Canva or similar tools)

  • Help collect and organize photos, stories, and impact data to share with donors

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office/Google Suite; willingness to learn Salesforce, Canva, and social media tools

  • Interest in nonprofit development, communications, and youth empowerment

Bonus Skills

  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM databases

  • Experience with Canva, Hootsuite, or similar platforms

  • Understanding of social media engagement strategies

  • Worked in Development, Fundraising, or Marketing

Annual Salary $62K DOE
