Contract Grants Reporting Specialist and Grant Writer

POSITION: Contract (Hybrid /Flexible Hours); able to come into SF office at least 1x per month

COMPENSATION: $75  per hour

ABOUT THE ROLE

Enterprise for Youth seeks a Contract Grants Reporting Specialist & Grant Writer to support both new grant writing and post-award grant reporting and compliance. This role combines compelling proposal development with rigorous reporting management. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and strategic thinker with exceptional attention to detail, project management discipline, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with program and finance teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Writing

  • Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with Enterprise’s mission and programs.

  • Write compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and concept papers tailored to funder priorities.

  • Collaborate with program and finance teams to gather data, metrics, and budgets.

  • Ensure all submissions meet funder guidelines and compliance standards.

  • Develop and maintain a grant calendar tracking deadlines and submissions.

Grant Reporting & Compliance

  • Review awarded grants to document reporting requirements, deliverables, and deadlines.

  • Maintain a master reporting calendar for interim and final reports.

  • Draft accurate, compelling narrative and financial reports.

  • Work closely with program staff to gather performance data and impact stories.

  • Partner with finance to align reporting with budget tracking and expenditures.

  • Ensure timely submission of all reports and maintain organized grant records.

  • Monitor grant deliverables and proactively flag risks or compliance gaps.

  • Utilize Salesforce (or similar CRM) to track grants, reporting milestones, and data.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven success writing and securing grants from foundations, corporations, and/or government agencies.

  • Experience preparing interim and final grant reports.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational systems.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with program and finance teams.

  • Deadline-driven, proactive, and solutions-oriented.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).

  • Familiarity with grant compliance and financial reporting requirements.
